Bernice Catherine Flynn

Catherine Bernice Flynn passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on April 21st at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL. She was a devoted, loving wife to her loving husband Michael for over 45 years. She was the mother of 4 children and a caring grandmother of 6 grandchildren. 

Cathy was born to parents Aaron & Bernice Giroir in New Orleans, April 25th, 1951. A graduate of Wayzata High School and she attended Normandale Community College in Minnesota. She was a runner-up in the Miss Wayzata Contest.
 
Michael and Cathy were married on Oct.4, 1975. She worked for the FBI, known as Factual Business Information in Miami and a Naples Property Management Company.  

Cathy served ten years as the President of the Parent’s Association of the Miami Sunset H.S. Marching Band. She is fondly known as “Mom Flynn” by her band family.  

Cathy was an active member of the Am Vets Women’s Auxiliary Post 23. She served as Sgt of Arms.  

Those surviving include her husband, Michael Flynn, sons, Timothy Flynn, Shreveport, LA., Thomas Flynn (Paula) Naples, FL and Daughter; Catherine Erin Flynn, Akron OH. Grandchildren; Kayla, Joseph, Kameron, Michael, Zoe & Gary Jr., her mother, Bernice Giroir, MN., and her sisters Carol Hanson, Christine Giroir, and Cari Giroir, all of Minnesota.  

Preceded in death are her daughter Katie Leah and father, Aaron Giroir. Cathy will be reunited with her daughter Katie Leah, Her “Moment of Sunshine” in Minnesota.  

There will be a viewing from 2:00-4:00 pm – with services at 3:00 at Fuller Funeral Home East Trail on Monday, April 26th, 2021.
