Charles Leggerie passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2020 at Avow Hospice with his loving family by his side.
Charles was born Feb 25, 1941 to Rose Leggerie nee DeMarco and Lawrence Leggerie. He married Lois, the love of his life, in 1961. He was preceded in death by sisters Dolores and Marie and his grandson Michael. He is survived by his wife Lois, brother Lawrence, children Charles, Chris, Carolyn, and Michael, and grandchildren Nicholas, Michael, Olivia, Benjamin, Mario, Charleze, and Taylor. Chalie, as he is known by all, was a Philadelphia firefighter for 32 years. He truly loved his job and considered his coworkers as family. Chalie was also known as ‘Concrete Chalie’ and was an excellent bricklayer. He was an altruistic, considerate, and decent man. He loved his family unconditionally and was grateful to be blessed with such great friends. He cherished his Catholic faith and loved being a parishioner at St. Peters.
Mass of Christian burial at St. Peter the Apostle church Tuesday, October 13 at 10am. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter the Apostle church or Avow Hospice. Memorial service will take place in Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday, October 20 at Givnish funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Dominic’s cemetery.
