Henry S. Bukowski, 95, of Naples, Florida, passed away on March 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 24, 1925 in Terryville, CT, he was the son of the late Frank and Rose (Dzielak) Bukowski. Henry was married for 69 years to Janet Arndt Bukowski who passed away in 2017. He is survived by his son, John Bukowski and wife Linda of Naples, FL; daughter, Laura Johns and husband James of Naples, FL; son, Robert Bukowski and wife Valerie of Knoxville, TN; brother Walter Bukowski and wife Karin of Terryville, CT; sister-in-law Leigh Blake of Farmington, CT; three grandchildren, Jason, Jamie, and Molly Bukowski, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his much-loved sister Helen Barcikowski, eldest brother Frank, and beloved granddaughter Amy.
Henry was a United States Army Air Force veteran of WWII as a navigator. He was one of five brothers (Chester, William, Edward, Walter) who proudly served their country in the U.S. Military. He was employed by the former New Departure-Hyatt GM Corporation in Bristol earning major GM Suggestion Plan awards during his tenure. Always an avid Red Sox fan, his most cherished times were those spent coaching and attending his son’s baseball games and at the New England shore with his family and friends. More than your average “Mr. Fix-it”, he built their two family homes in Bristol and helped others do the same. After retirement, Hank and Janet moved to Bear Lakes, West Palm Beach, FL in 1986, enjoying their wonderful golden years.
A family memorial will be held at a later date at Hillside Cemetery, Terryville, CT.
