James Richard Sullivan, 75, of Naples, Florida, peacefully passed away on January 7, 2022 with his family by his side. James was born on November 16, 1946 in Winthrop, MA. He graduated from Winthrop High school in 1966 before enlisting in the US Navy from 1966-1968, where he served a tour in the Vietnam War on Navy Patrol Boats.
James built a career in the construction industry as a member of the Piledrivers Local Union No. 56 for about 40 years and as a superintendent for both Frankie Foundation and NEFCO. He was a proud member of Winthrop Yacht Club, Elks, Knights of Columbus and The American Legion.
James was a dedicated husband and father. James met his wife Diana in 1971 and they went on to have 3 sons, James Jr., Michael and Stephen, and raised their family in Medfield, MA. James enjoyed taking his family on camping trips and traveling around the world. As a father, he was proud to send his three sons to college - the first generation. After a long and proud career, James and Diana retired in sunny Naples, Florida. He was known for his culinary skills and his love for entertaining friends and family.
James was predeceased by his parents, John and Doris. He is survived by his wife, Diana, and their three children, James Jr(and wife Melisa) of Hoboken, NJ, Michael of Watertown, MA, and Stephen of Fort Myers, FL, his brother, Jack of Winthrop, MA, his sister, Ruth of Winthrop, MA and his two nephews.
Services will be held at the Fuller Home Services and Cremation
