Jamison Mardi May

July 29, 1990 ~ April 6, 2024 (age 33) 33 Years Old

Tribute

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jamison Mardi May on April 6, 2024, at age 33.

Jamison was born in Naples, Florida to Chona and Hugh May, and the youngest of three siblings to Jonathan and Jenna.

Growing up, you could find Jamison with a posse of friends wherever he went. Whether it was riding bikes through Golden Gate, playing manhunt or yard football, he always had enough buddies around to form some sort of team. He was even affectionately named the “social butterfly” of the kids by his mom. Jamison aka "Wame" truly loved all his friends. He has been described by them as “a beautiful force” and always being there for everyone. Many acknowledging his kindness and silly sense of humor.

Though modest in stature, Jamison was pound-for-pound an incredible athlete. He worked hard to achieve his junior black belt in karate, becoming a National Champion at the ripe old age of 9. He excelled at baseball playing on youth baseball leagues and all-star teams. In high school, he broke all the weightlifting records for his weight class – just a straight up beast! And of course, there was football. He loved football. When he was old enough to play Pop Warner, during the first Mighty Might practice, he earned the nickname “Mad Dog May” because of his speed and ability to break tackles. The first football uniform he would wear would be his favorite team – the Seminoles. Jamison would go on to play for the Naples Gators and eventually play at Naples High School as a Golden Eagle. He ended his high school football career with a perfect season, and winning the State Championship game where he caught that epic interception.

Jamison was a witty, loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend with a playful personality. He will be remembered for his kind and giving heart, his dimpled smile, his random silly sayings, and his unwavering loyalty and love for his friends and family. Though taken too soon, the family finds comfort in knowing he now joins his father.

Jamison was preceded in death by his father, Hugh May. He is survived by his mother, Chona (Mark) May, his brother, Jonathan (Jessica) May, his sister, Jenna May, and his dog Roscoe. Jamison is also survived by several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.
