MARY BURKETT COLE

Mary Cole, born February 29, 1932 in Michigan City, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2022. Mary was the daughter of George and Hilda Halter Burkett of Michigan City Indiana and was preceded in death by her her loving husband Robert C Cole, her brothers, Robert, James and George (Bill).
Mary also leaves behind her ten nieces and nephews, Peggy Burkett Schultz of Delray Beach, Fl., Robert Burkett of Estero, Fl., Thomas Burkett, Bill Burkett, Mathew Burkett, Mike Burkett, Joe Burkett, Sarah Burkett, Dyan Stout, David Burkett and numerous great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces, nephews and step grand and great- grand children.. In addition, Mary leaves behind her loving step children, Michael Cole, Elizabeth Bertoch, Robert Cole, Thomas Cole and Mary Christenson and Grand children Peter Cole, Julia Elser, Andrea Cole, Will Cole, Jacob Cole, Joe Cole, Megan Christenson, and George Cole.
Mary graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Math and Physics. She had a successful career at Illinois Bell Telephone company in Chicago where she met the love of her life Robert. After their marriage in Chicago Mary and Robert retired to Naples and were long time members of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Throughout her beautiful life Mary loved spending time with all of her family members and was a wonderful and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, step mom and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruising the world with her late husband. She also enjoyed needlepoint work and presented many beautiful framed pieces of her work to numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday July 13 at Fuller Funeral East, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, Naples. A funeral Mass will is planned at 10:00 AM on Thursday July 14 at St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5130 Rattlesnake Hammock Road, Naples followed by internment at the on site columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to AVOW Hospice, Naples and/or the ALS Foundation.
