Marylyn Patricia Wheeler, age 86, passed away on May 11, 2023 in Naples, Florida. Marylyn was born on February 13, 1937 to Mabel and Kenneth Greeno in Stoutsville, Ohio. She attended Walnut Township High School, Ohio, and married her high school sweetheart, James E. Wheeler. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary last April.
Marylyn was a talented artist and an avid genealogist. She had a passion for shoes, spoiling her grandchildren, and entertaining with her friends. Marylyn was proud to have been a Sunday School teacher to school children at Marcy Lutheran Church, Ohio. She had an eclectic career working as a clerk and jewerly maker in a gift shop, a bank teller, and a cookware demonstrator. After conquering her battle with cancer, she volunteered to drive cancer patients to appointments and taught craft classes at a senior center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Wheeler, her two daughters Cindy Douglas and Jill Wheeler, her son-in-law John Douglas, her two grandchildren Ashley Douglas and James Travis Wheeler, and her brother Michael Greeno.
Marylyn was a vibrant, independent woman who was well loved by her family and friends. Although she will be greatly missed, listen to your heart and you will hear her and be surrounded by her love.
A service will be held for Marylyn on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Fuller Funeral Home, Naples, Florida. Visitation starts at 2:00 PM; the service will begin at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society or the Lighthouse of Collier: Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired, Naples, Florida.
