Maureen L. Spine (nee Murphy) aged 75, passed away on 12/26/2021 in Naples, Florida. She was the loving wife of Anthony J Spine. They shared 53 years of marriage together.
Born in 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland, Maureen was the daughter of William and Lillian Murphy, and Alfred and Mary Ritt. She graduated from St. Stephen’s High School Bradshaw, in 1964. She then graduated from the Sinai School of Nursing in the late 60’s. Her early years were spent taking care of her family. She then went into the bookkeeping/accounting field where she worked for many years at S&S Management, then at All States Construction in Ocean View, Delaware.
Maureen enjoyed life, and cherished times spent with her family. She was witty, kind, and had a sharp sense of humor. In her later years, Maureen and her husband A.J., (Tony) enjoyed travelling. They visited Europe several times, and went on too many cruises to count. They spent a lot of time enjoying the company of the new and old friends that they met in both Naples and Delaware. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend, and was loved by many.
Maureen is survived by her husband A.J (Tony), children, Stacey Fletcher and Michael Spine of Maryland, siblings Michael Murphy, Thomas Murphy, and Nancy Lance (Blair), all of Baltimore, Maryland. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and best friend, Debra Lewandowski, of Frankford, Delaware, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her mother and father in-law, and her beloved brother, William Murphy.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at a future date, in Sussex County, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
