Paul Dean Cannon

December 29, 1934 ~ March 27, 2021 (age 86)

On Friday, March 27th, 2021, Paul Dean Cannon Loving husband, and father of five children, passed away at the age of 86.
Paul Dean was born December 29, 1934 in Belmont, NC, to Paul and Lela Cannon.
He met the love of his life Maxine and joined in marriage on April 18, 1952.
With only an 8th grade education he labored as a mill worker at East Belmont, NC. In 1961 he moved to Naples and joined Bill Shedden working many years in construction building several homes in Brookside. He then continued as a general contractor of George Storter and Sons building homes throughout Naples and Marco Island. One of the many landmarks built that he was so proud of, was the fountain that was built in front of Park Shore, and as children he would drive us around showing us the many homes that he built or were currently under construction.
Dean had a passion for working with his hands, that included working alongside his wife and daughters at Maxine’s their Alteration business, which led him to spend many hours in their home garage upholstering furniture.
He was certainly known for his quick wit; stern looks along with his quiet and unassuming solid spirit.
He served his God faithfully in his church at New Hope Ministries as well with the Gideons, standing strong in his faith always pointing his family and others to Christ with actions that spoke louder than words.
Paul Dean was preceded in death by his father, Paul, his mother, Lela and two sisters Delores and Evelyn, his daughter Pamela, 2 grandchildren Rhonda and Ronnie.
He is survived by his wife Maxine, his four children, Jeanette(Huelen), Annette(Ronald Jay), Paul(Pam) and Brenda(Pete), his sister Pat, 11 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 at New Hope Ministries 7675 Davis Blvd Naples, Florida. at 9 o’clock a.m.
