Robert P. Cannon, 78, of Naples, Florida, sadly passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 31, at his home. He had been suffering from a lengthy illness.
He had been a resident of Florida for the past 10 years.
"Bob" was born on June 11, 1943 in Malden, Mass. - son of the late Ida M. Bassett.
He joined the Marine Corpe in March of 1961 and completed his four year commitment in March of 1965.
Upon returning home he worked in both New Hampshire and Maine.
He then became a health worker and moved to Massachusetts.
"Bob" loved the ocean and became an avid surfer while on a short stint in Hawaii.
Survivors include sister Joan L. Menslage and her husband George. Nephews Jeffrey R. Cook, Donald T. Cook and one niece, Wendy L. McCarmack.
Interment will be at The National Cemetery for Veterans in Sarasota, Florida.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date - to be announced.
