Tribute

Robert (Bob) Smith Reilly of Naples, Florida, (formerly East Hampton CT), husband of the late Sarah (Sadie) Ann McCarn Trainer Reilly, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the age of 85. After several weeks of declining health, Bob died peacefully with his family and his friend and long-time care giver, Pat Mobley, by his side. 
Bob was born in New Haven, February 5,1937 and was the son of the late George and Katherine Smith Reilly. Bob was predeceased by his brothers George, Arthur, Francis, Edward, his sister MaryAnne, and his nephew George Reilly.
Bob is survived by his daughter Patricia (Patty) Reilly of Colchester, CT and his son Robert (Bob) Arthur Reilly and his wife Kirsten (Strickland) Reilly of East Hampton, CT, as well, as his grandchildren Meghan Reilly, Ian Reilly and Sean Reilly. He is also survived by his niece’s Judy (Reilly) Soprano and her husband Mike, Kathy (Reilly) Nuzzo and her husband Mickey, Sally (Reilly) Mancuso and her husband Steve, Patricia Lynn Reilly and her sister Maggie Rose (Kathleen Reilly) and his nephew Thomas Reilly and his wife Margaret.
Bob was immensely proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps making the level of Sergeant. Bob was employed with the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation for 38 years and served as the President of the Right-of-Way Association. Bob was also a member and State Advocate for the Knights of Columbus in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Bob also was a real estate broker. Despite his late wife Sadie’s love of the Red Sox, Bob was an avid Yankee fan, which brought about many interesting discussions!
Bob shared and instilled his Irish heritage to his children which brought countless smiles and laughs and will be remembered by all the fun times they shared together, his smile, his laugh, his helpfulness and just being a nice guy.
Bob moved to Naples, Florida after the death of his wife, Sadie, and became the president of the Lakewood Association and helped many a resident there with any problems that arose. He was very well liked and will be sorely missed by the remaining friends and neighbors.
