Robert Howard Farley III

Robert Farley, 84 years old, of Naples, FL died on January 2nd after a short battle with a non-COVID respiratory illness. His family was by his side when he passed.
Born July 2, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Farley, his children, Kathy Farley and husband Victor Kuzmin living in Vienna; VA, Bob Farley and wife Michelle Reynolds living in Birmingham AL; and granddaughter, Paulina Farley-Kuzmina living in Washington, D.C.

Bob was raised in Des Moines, IA and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He received a BBA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1958. While there, he rowed crew for two years and was a member of Theta Delta Chi social fraternity serving as president during his junior year. Upon graduating, he spent the summer hiking the Grand Tetons and washing dishes in Jenny Lake Lodge – his first of many great outdoor adventures.

Bob attended Navy Officers Candidate school and was commissioned an Ensign in the Supply Corps, retiring as a Commander after serving 20 years. While in the Navy he received an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Upon retirement from the Navy, Bob worked 14 years for defense contractor, TRW, as a finance, project control and administration manager. Bob and Linda lived 35 years in Vienna Virginia, moving to Naples Florida in 2006.
Bob and Linda’s love of the outdoors and desire for adventure drove them to spend their retirement years traveling the United States in a RV, hiking and exploring the western states. While still in Northern Virginia, they discovered kayaking and have paddled in Alaska, Vietnam, extensively in the eastern US but they especially enjoyed Maine, the Adirondacks and Southwest Florida.
