Salvatore Piranio

April 24, 1937 ~ March 25, 2021 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Tribute

Salvatore Joseph Piranio, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on the morning of Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the age of 83.

Salvatore was born on April 24, 1937, in the Bronx, NY to Biaggio “Ben” and Santa Piranio, who predeceased him, along with his sister Bernice “Dolly” (m. Robert Arens), who survives him. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Navy and served his country honorably for two years. On September 25, 1964, he married the love of his life Carol, who predeceased him. After marriage, the two moved to a home in Nanuet, NY where they raised three children: Joseph (m. Carolyn), Tina, and Peter (m. Laura), who survive him. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Vincent, Dylan, Melina, and Jack.

During his life, Salvatore was naturally curious. He was a student of American history, always reading books about the country he loved so much. He was never one to miss out on current events as the news constantly played on his television. In his later years, he became fascinated by technology, and new advancements never ceased to amaze him.

After many decades as an operating engineer, Salvatore retired at the age of 64, and would later move with his wife to his final home in Naples, FL. He loved, and was loved by, his many neighbors and friends, with whom he enjoyed great comfort in his final years.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Fuller Funeral Home (East Naples) at 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Immediately following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held with friends and family. Flowers may be sent to 4735 Tamiami Trail E, Naples, FL 34112.
