Born on January 2nd, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois was the son of the late Phyllis and Arthur Johnson. He grew up in Chicago and developed a strong work ethic and passion for sheet metal. William met his wife Madeleine in 1962; they fell in love and married shortly after on February 23rd,1963. The two bought a house in Batavia, Illinois where they raised their four children.

His enthusiasm and love for these pursuits were contagious as he inspired many with his dedication and skill, especially his children.

Beyond his professional achievements, William was a loving family man. He cherished his role as a father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His family was always his top priority. He created countless memories with his loved ones — whether it was through family boat rides, watching a movie, vacations, or family get-togethers.

In his free time, William enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, boating, and traveling. In his down time he was often found cleaning or fixing something as he never could sit still.

William was also a kind and compassionate individual who always went out of his way to help others. He had a genuine warmth and a friendly smile that could brighten anyone's day. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and his willingness to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, James Johnson and sister, Susan Vaisnoras.

He is survived by his wife, Madeleine, his four children Steve (Jeanne), Scott (Laura), Chris (Brandi), Jennifer, and his grandchildren, Michelle (Brandon), Elise (Austin), Madalynn, and Cameron, as well as great grandchild, Bentley.
